Cycling the West cost from Westport to Greymouth with it's pancake rocks

Another nice way to travel N.Z

featuring Takaka where i'll certainly turn back in a few month

there's a lot to see in Golden bay

the Summit of the Takaka hill as well calld the " Marble mountain" a ascension from see level to 791min in 11 kms... not really hard but not bad... nice when the good weather is playing the game with you but if it's not the case... then ... just make the best you can with a bad situation... there's always an exit even if it's the emergency one ...

With the mount Murchinson in the back ground

The Farewell Spit and it's arch and bird population just ...uhh...

The Farewell Spit & area

The PUPU Springs near Takaka should be the klearest water in the worldafter antartica in fact i saw realy klear water in Hawaii to... but it's a nice place and it worth well to go there
it has been the day where i wnted to go over the takaka hill in the othher way i've done it befor ... in the morning i washed my cloth but they didn't dry due to a rainy day .
I begann my ascension though it was still raining . It rained all the way up but a light and enjoyable rain on my hot skin but the higher i got the colder the weahter became and the heavyer the rain begann to fall ... once one the top it rained... it was ...COLD and the HURICANE wanted to meet me it shaked me around on the road like a pantin soooo i decided to camp (where actually planed but not in this conditions...) So ...i had to make the best with the worse ( not a lot good things in the air ..).
im on the top no obstacle to brake down the winds furror and it rains more and more ... a had to set up my tent in the badest weather i experienced yet but ...the sooner the better ... here i go i beginn ... i never set up my tent as quickly but it didn't help everything was WET and my clothes are STILL wet (cos' they didn't heve the time to dry...) everything ? NO my sleeping bag and i enjoyed it though it .
All the night long the wind didn't loose an once of it's power and i didn't know if my tent would make it but ... it did it the morning came and i guess i've never been as happy to see the SUN shinning with all it's power though the wind didn't shut complettly over night ( better to dry my clothes ...)

and mow you can take a look on the pictures if you want to ... or maybe TAKE A LOOK IN THE BOOK ...

Cyclers be aware when you encounter something like that in N.Z it could be your last day... and i know what i'm talking about...

the buller gorge from Murchinson to St.Arnaud

The french pass beautyfull ...isn't it ? Where i hade one of he most nice camp area ...but windy

the road to the frenchpass on the south island with the beautyful lanskape i wish i could cycle a place like that every day that would make it at least easyer if you wanna go there ... it's just UP TO YOU my friends ... i dare you to make it with the byc. 2500 meters ascension a day from Nelson to it and the same back ... well. on the way back i didn't have the two Sadles to Nelson but i had the Queen Charlotte Drive to Picton wich is not bad as well toughout it seemed to be flat after The French Pass...

Back in Picton with the T.G.V (train a grande vitesse)
